Graduate Fellowships and Undergraduate Internships

Fellowship and internship applications (for graduate students and undergrads, respectively,) are accepted on a rolling basis. The duration of each fellowship/internship depends on the needs of the fellow/intern and WEDO programs. A minimum two-month commitment is required and applicants available for longer commitments are encouraged. Fellows/interns will conduct research and writing, provide administrative assistance, attend meetings, and undertake other tasks as necessary, under the direction of the relevant programmatic staff. Ideal candidates will have:

  • Enthusiasm for and commitment to WEDO’s mission and goals
  • Some knowledge, practical or academic, of the program area in which s/he applies to work
  • Excellent research, writing, and oral communication skills
  • The ability to complete all tasks (mundane to substantive) in a careful, timely manner
  • Experience working in an office, coupled with an ability to undertake multiple tasks, sometimes under time pressure
  • A sense of humor, an ability to work well in a small team setting, and a desire to work in an informal environment
  • The ability to work at least 10-15 hours/week
  • Fluency in a foreign language is highly desirable but not required

Internships and fellowships are unpaid (unless otherwise listed) but can be used for college credit. All WEDO Internships and Fellowships are based in our offices in New York City, unfortunately WEDO cannot offer any assistance with travel or visa needs.
