The University of Nottingham School of Contemporary Chinese Studies PhD Research Scholarship Deadlines
The School of Contemporary Chinese Studies (SCCS) at the University of Nottingham is the UK's second largest teaching and research centre focused on contemporary China. The Doctorate programme allows students to conduct in-depth research on a broad range of social sciences and business-related subjects as well as topics covering china policy through the School's China Policy Institute. We currently have the following PhD scholarships opportunities:
School Scholarship for doctoral research This award would cover full tuition fees and a maintenance grant of approximately £13,863 each year for a maximum of three years of full-time doctoral study (subject to evidence of satisfactory progress). The stipend for International students will be lower (£6,500 approx.) due to the higher tuition fee. Excellent applications in any area of Chinese Studies that can be supervised by the School's academic staff are welcomed. Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship for Research Excellence (European Union) 30 x full EU tuition fee and £8,400 per year bursaries towards living expenses for EU students across all faculties. You can apply for this scholarship if you: * are classed as a European Union (non UK) student for fee purposes AND * already hold an offer to start a full-time research degree programme, PhD or MPhil, at Nottingham in September or October 2014, any subject area.
Application for admission to study at Nottingham must be received at least six weeks before the scholarship closing date to allow time for our Admissions office to process the application and confirm your offer, before you can apply for the scholarship. Any application for admission to study submitted later than six weeks before the scholarship closing date is not guaranteed to be processed in time. Sir Francis Hill Scholarship One Sir Francis Hill Scholarship is available for the academic year 2014/15. This award is open to nominations from the Faculties of Social Sciences and Arts and offers a remission of full time HEU, research postgraduate fees and maintenance grant at Research Council rates. Further information is available from the Graduate School website. The deadline for applications is 11th April.
