Writing an English essay can be a hard thing to do especially for non-native speakers. We often make mistakes such as incorrect spelling, incorrect grammar and incorrect use of type of word. However, I believe even the native could have a hard time writing an essay. In this essay I will tell you my experience about the best way to improve our ability in English essay writing.

Firstly, we need to improve our grammar understanding. Grammar is very important since any first mistake a reader would notice would be the grammar. Non-English speakers mostly do not use many tenses to describe time and situation like in English. In language like Bahasa Indonesia, the word composition even does not matter. Secondly, we need to pay attention to irregular verbs. Many people wrongly choose the past form and the past participle form of a verb. There are some cases where the irregular verbs do not even change form (e.g. Cut). Lastly, we need to think of the main idea and child ideas that follow and describe it. We often too focus on grammar and forget what one paragraph presents about. So how to improve all of that ? Of course we need to get used to it. We need to practice it little by little and have someone to check our work.

Despite all of that, we need to avoid our laziness not to try to write an essay. People often think they can be better by reading magazine , novel, or article in English. But In my opinion they need to try to write an essay themselves. By writing an essay themselves they can see their own mistake and think of the proper words to be used.

In conclusion , The best way to improve our skill in english writing essay is practicing write one. Here come some old saying Practice makes perfect. The best way is to learn from our mistake. Learn to use the proper word , grammar and compose one good essay presenting a good idea.
